2.5×3.5 watercolor done this week over charcoal sketch of a common quail, an art card edition original. Its beak looks too bluish here. Sketched on discarded book page first then adhered to sketchbook paper. These birds are fun to shoot and eat during quail season.Actual size is below:

April 25, 2018 at 8:26 am #608883I used to see quail: dad, mom, and all the little chicks going just as fast as they can go! Haven’t seen any for a while, but I did get to watch a roadrunner with her chick for several minutes a couple of weeks ago.
