Bath is a charming city in the UK. The Romans first constructed the famous baths almost 2,000 years ago. In my 10 year old photo the only “real” Roman parts are the remaining pillar bases. The baths are below the modern street level.
“Simplify” does not seem to be in my artistic portfolio.:)
Arches 140# CP 13 x 19 inches. Many pigments but primarily W&N Phalo Blue, Burnt Sienna, Permanent Violet, Perylene Maroon as well as DS Primateks Zoosite Genuine .
As always, appreciate C&C. You may use my photo if you wish.

December 2, 2018 at 12:01 am #739701You choose subjects that I wouldn’t even begin to attempt and do them so well. I was in Bath a few years ago, took many photos and the only thing I’ve attempted to paint was Sulis Minerva!

December 3, 2018 at 7:33 am #739689Beautiful! I took a photo from that angle way back in 1984. I loved exploring Bath.

Steve1, I really worked hard on the water. I loved the color but was afraid it became too much the center of attention in the lower corner…but it seems to work.
My harshest resident critic suggested that the building on the upper left was too light and drew too much attention. She was correct (as she always is) so I did darken it.
Thank you all.

December 12, 2018 at 6:53 pm #739694Joe…thank you. The drawing was a lot of work, but I’m retired. I just don’t seem to want to simplify the paintings.
