The shutterbug Pub, Tuesday, 19 November, 2019

Good morning all - I'm back! Did you miss me?

I left from DD house last Tuesday, after a visit to the Urgent Care because of chest pains. Doc checked me out and said I was good to go but did recommend I get a full cardiac workup when I got back home, just because of "my age". Hmmph. The chest pains were likely caused by some kind of inflammation in the chest cavity. Told me to take an Aleve morning and night for a few days. But enough of that.

Had a great time in the Smokies. It had snowed Monday night so there was about 2 inches on the ground when I got there, but the roads were clear.

Cade's Cove, TN.

Sunrise. Not much color but I liked the "fog" in the valley.

Another scene in Cade's Cove.

An old mill at the visitor's center in Cade's Cove. They still grind corn meal there, and DW had put in here order for me to bring some home.

Don, glad you are back safe and sound. Love those photos, especially the smoky mountains.

Very pretty shot, Patty. I love that little path.

Here is a shot from about a year ago that I just saw when I was looking through my archives. I remember Toby sat down on the path and I noticed the leaf. I tried to get it by itself, but then noticed how nifty it looked with a piece of Toby in the shot. LOL!

It was dark when I took the photo, but not that dark. I darkened it up some and softened it.

Hello everyone and welcome back, Don.
You sound very positive about your trip to the Smokey Mountains. Hopefully all test results will come back great and you have nothing to worry about.
Thanks for starting the daily for us.
I think the fog in the mountain image is just gorgeous. That had to be breathe taking when you first laid eyes on it. I like how the colors are balanced with the yellow in the upper left and oranges in lower right.
Hopefully we will get to see more.

Patty,
Is that strictly a pedestrian path or a motor vehicle path to the waterfalls. It looks picturesque and an nice covered entranceway to the great water show that lies beyond. Beautiful light enriching those colorful leaves and creating nice shadows.

Ginny, Looks like you are getting a little artsy there. I like the soft and curved look of Toby's fur. Good eye, interesting capture.

Well, this is not at all what I had intended to post this morning but I want to go along with the theme.
So, here is more from our big snowfall a week ago.

Have a Totally Terrific Tuesday all.
LORELL

Ginny, that is an unusual composition of textures!
I would have never guessed it was Toby!

That's a footpath Lorell.
I didn't see any bicycle either.
(we have been here many times over the years)
I have photographed the falls before. But DH
has surrendered and is now carrying a camera
so we are visiting places for him to shoot too.

Ginny, that image conjures a murder scene - I can see it as the cover of a whodunnit!

Lorell, How different your daily walks to mine. Sub zero for you, no doubt, 34C for me (my kind of weather). It's not crocodile country but I sense the presence of a Yeti among those trees.

Patty, you've posted two different falls, I love the autumn colors in the first, and in the second an unusual camera angle on the falls but it works for me.

"REPLICA" another of Nadia's magnificent Welsh cobs

Sorry for the size of this picture, it is linked from another gallery.

OH Beautiful horse in action, Mark!
Love all the dust he's kicking up!
Great capture, I hope you have more!

Same water falls...about halfway down the falls, the side of the gorge cuts a shadow across the falls changing the light. By time you get to the bottom, its ambient light through the trees. The face of the falls faces south, south east.

Patty,
Lovely perspective of the boulders and falls. Lucky you to be able to go out again and have a companion to shoot with. To me this translates into getting more time to take photos, unlike when my husband is with me and he keep asking, "are you done yet?". Actually he doesn't rush me, but I would be out there twice as long if he weren't in a car waiting for me.

Patty, what does your husband do with his photos?

Mark,
My goodness that is an awesome photo of a horse with a body that looks like it is made of porcelain. What a capture. Did you ever print this one up for Nadia?

Lorell, beauty shots, both! It is hard, here on our property, to get shots of snow without marks already in it. LOL!

Patty, nifty shot of the falls. I'm sure there are lots of angles you can do with them.

Mark! Such a beautiful picture!

Thanks Lorell,
For now, he just puts them on the server. He hasnít installed any graphics editing program yet. His computer is his work station so he doesnít put personal stuff on it.
Heís using the old D70 and is looking to upgrade when the deals hit the market soon.
Itís interesting how we choose different details to shoot of the same locations!

Thanks Ginny,
Has your snow melted yet?

Patty, our snow has been gone for a few days. Well, actually, there are a couple of spots with snow left, but they are like doilies on the yard. LOL!

It was never printed Lorell. We prefer our images on screen where they can be viewed and shared at will, rather than cluttering the walls, or storing them away in a cupboard.
