Obtaining Prizes for Exhibitions

Do any of the teachers here ever have exhibitions for their students? If so, do you write letters to art supply distributors for gift certificates, or other items to be used as prizes. I am trying to compose such a letter and failing miserably. Any form letters would be greatly appreciated. Kay
