So happy to be part of the Wet Canvas Community

Hello, I am so excited to be part of the Wet Canvas forum. I am a beginner, painting with water soluble oils. I drew and painted some as a child, but stopped when my fear of failure reared its ugly head. At the age of 66, I have decided to give it a go for one reason...to satisfy my own creative impulses.

On this forum I read about a book called "Painting Small," and the concept of painting small pieces, as they are more manageable, encouraged me to "just do it. " So here I am!

In four days I completed four pretty terrible small pieces, but at least I am painting. Over my easel I have hung a sign that says, "Progress, not perfection. Process not product," and I intend to stick to those maxims. Tough job for a lifelong perfectionist, but I really want to do this.

Hello and welcome to the community.
Never listen to that silly fear talk which wants to tell you you can't do it. You can.
Enjoy exploring the site.
* You can access any Forum by using the “Forum Jump” located at the bottom right of the screen or the Channels drop down menu at the upper left
* Moderators and Guides have links in their Signature lines to address FAQ’s
* There are “Stickys’' (permanent threads that “stick” at the top of all thread listings) that are full of helpful information.
**You can use Google Advanced Search to help you locate topics of interest on WC by simply entering WetCanvas in the blank asking for a domain name
* You must have two written posts prior to being able to upload an image

When you are reading a post inside a thread, as you are now, you will notice another blue bar just atop of your first post. Look toward the right and you will see the Thread Tools option and here is where you click to see options such as choosing to subscribe for an Email update to the thread or add the thread to your favorites so you may easily find it in the future.
