I like to leave myself open for MI and this weekend there are some inspiring references. Top of my list was a foregone conclusion. He was just so beautiful. What a sweet cat – and I can’t help but think of him guarding the tomb of a lost human friend.

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen (black) and Caran d’Ache brush pen (gray) plus FineTec Pearlescent gold in the eyes. On Grumbacher Mixed Media journal heavy sized paper.Or maybe he’s just the sweet friend of a Goth artist hanging out waiting for his human to finish sketching angels… there is a story here, that cat looks very sleek and well fed! Quite a thick coat too!

I was sketching the very unusual campanile on the church in Lover on a bright and sunny day last year. I got up to stretch my legs and thought I was about to stumble on a cat which turned up to be a very small gravestone! But when I looked up I was actually being watched by this little guardian, I was quite taken aback! He stuck around to see me safely off the premises.C&C always welcome.

All Media Art Events, Artwork From Life, Art JournalsFebruary 3, 2018 at 1:39 pm #558300Oh that’s cool! Thank you for the story! Wow, just as I envisioned it. Too bad you didn’t have any Temptations in your pockets for a new-met friend.
Purr thank you! I like this more the longer I look at it, think this is one of my better efforts. The foliage was an experiment that worked.

blogs: Rob's Art Lessons and Rob's Daily PaintingFebruary 3, 2018 at 5:52 pm #558312Your deer is very nice. I still like the dangerous kitty better though! He is twitching his tail and thinking sinister thoughts!
C&C always welcomeFebruary 4, 2018 at 9:48 am #558302Oh he is. He’s got that grumpy look to him. Why ARE you painting that thing instead of paying attention to ME?
I love cat moods. I did change the position of his tail slightly for composition reasons, but the gesture looked as if he was twitching or lashing it lazily so it was a natural moment later. I angled the tip twitch to point toward his eyes. Look At ME!

C&C always welcome.
