Hello again ...

Hi guys been away for a couple of years but getting back into the swing of things with my art work again. I am looking forward to connecting with old friends and making new ones. I do have one concern - why is this site coming up unsecure on my PC ? That worries me.

Set this up for a class I am teaching :-)

Re: Hello again ...

Hello Miss Mouse,
That is an interesting question.
I shall have to pass that along to Doug.

In the meantime, I am trying to figure out what kind of class your are prepping to teach. Could it be a drawing class with colored pencils? Where do you teach the class? That is a nice composition of materials in a natural and comfortable looking setting. Good Job MM.

Hopefully I will have an answer for you soon.

Re: Hello again ...

Hello MissMouse, that "insecure" warning appears on so many safe websites that it is virtually meaningless. Lorell may come back with a definitive answer to the question.

Welcome back and it's nice meet you.

Re: Hello again ...

Insecure, means that the site does not have an https address.

Re: Hello again ...

Hi, Pam! Nice to see you!!
Interesting setup!! What class is it for??

Wetcanvas and other sites used to have http//: but that was dropped and now it has the exclamation point and Not secure....It means you should not give sensitive information like credit cards on sites that do not have the small image of a lock The lock means the sites are secure.

Re: Hello again ...

I teach an open air class in the warmer months at a local herb shop. The set up is used for inspiration. It is a bring your own materials to work with and chose something to sculpt, draw ect. It might be a color that inspires you or the entire pic to sketch. We start with meditation and move on from there.

I know what it means but wonder why it was dropped - just curious :-)

Re: Hello again ...

Lorell and Natalie - here is a quick sketch I did that day. Haven't done much more on it as I am painting the one pic in the box on consignment. It is of Holy Basil.

Re: Hello again ...

MissMouse, I sent you a response from our administrator, Doug. Look for a PM from Luv2shoot.

Holy Basil, I didn't know such thing existed. I understand it is a stress reliever. I could use some of that. I hope you share with us your painting or send us a link.

It would be fun to take your class. How experience does one have to be?

Re: Hello again ...

Absolutely none. I always have some inexpensive sketch pads and a few old pencils on hand. I just ask that you leave your adult mind at the gate and draw like you were a kid again - no boundaries and no constrictions.

Re: Hello again ...

When I was a kid in high school, my friends and I signed up to take drawing lessons at a local art league...it was fun!! I have not sketched much at all.....not since the late 1970's when I had no kiids and my life was simpler.....then life happened.......and I got so busy before I could blink I was 67. It hasn't gotten much slower.....maybe it's time for me to meditate on my life circumstances....

Re: Hello again ...

Natalie, it is easier then you think. Get yourself a small sketch book and try doing a sketch a day. Start simple and it does not have to be every day. Also remember it is your book and you do not have to share it. I have recipes in mine and some personal little writings.
