Comments please!

Hi all,
I'd like to enter this in a show, so I'd really appreciate any comments or suggestions anyone has. This is all freehand in painter 9. I started with digital watercolors, and built up layers of pastel on top of that.

A local art organization is having a really big show, and it will be the first time they have a category for digital art. While the group seemed very accepting of digital, I'm not sure that many have any idea what to expect.

Not sure what I will name it either.

All comments and suggestions welcome.

That's a very small image to look at. What size will you be printing it?

Being more into realism I'm not a very good judge of that style. I feel like some parts, like the water and sky, could be more refined. Some of the greens might be too saturated but you'll have to see how it prints. It does look like a spring scene though, so maybe the colours are ok.

How about Spring Rush for a title?

Thanks LavenderFrost for your comments. I'm not sure why I posted this so small, except that I remember I was in a hurry. I was intentionally pushing to colors to be quite bright and the general look of it to be more painterly, watercolorish than realistic.

Now that I posted it again at a larger size, I don't like the sky
Good suggestion for the title. I hadn't even thought of that yet.

I like it, my only comment is that the foreground foliage seems very bright.

I agree, the foreground plants, esp the top yellow needs to be toned down and detailed a bit more, your sky seems to be going around the mtns, and the trees on the left need to be a bit more detailed, like the ones on the right are. the mtns in the background seem a bit too white, maybe add a touch of shading using the colors of the rocks in the stream? i like where you placed the cloud in the sky,it needs to be a bit more dramatic though,add some slight color reflections from the water and some shadowing to make it a bit more realistic, but not too much, you want to keep the focus on the water,you just dont want the sky to feel like an after thought.
l like the overall color palette,the watercolor effect is also well done, esp on the rocks.
