I’ve occasionally posted here before. I often draw cartoons mainly for my own amusement because I find them a lot of fun to do. I also post in the Weekly Drawing Event in the All Media forum on this site.
If you are not familiar with this event it is open to anyone and involves responding to a set of posted reference images. Sometimes a challenge is included. In theory you work on your response for two hours only but there is no strict rule about that or indeed about anything else!
I like the idea of being confronted with the references and having to respond quickly. It’s refreshing and exhilarating. You should give it a try!
This week the reference photos included photos of a cukaburra, a kitten, a rather fine pot, a swan, a toy robot and a colourful piñata. I decided to combine them all in a cartoon.
I drew this on an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil in Procreate, hope you like it.Do come along and give the WDE a try. Here’s a link:
