Louisa McElwain (1953 – 2013) was a very talented and respected artist locating herself in and around NM. She would go out in her pickup into the desert and using both the bed and the tailgate as the resting place for her easel. She worked on very large canvas 6′ x 6′ and larger.
I have merged some of her flamboyant style into my semi abstract loose style into what I call loose semi abstract expressionism. I plan many more of these.
I don’t have a pickup, can’t afford canases as large as 6’x6′ and since moving from AZ and NM, I no longer have a desert BUT I HAVE THOUSANDS OF PHOTOS AND A PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY of our 12 years spent in the SW!Sunshine After The Monsooon Storm
