Hi, I attempted these sketches (with pen and ink) of trees using a fine felt tipped pen I already had. This was certainly a different technique to the other lessons. Doing it in my sketch pad it bled through onto the back though. Perhaps if I purchased the rapidograph pen as was suggested these efforts would look better?

Lyn - Looks very good . Only one remark: with pencils there is a general tendency to stay too light. With P&I it is the opposite, it is difficult to keep nice mid tones. Pens with a finer tip will help.

All kinds of pens work very well in this class, even old-fashioned dip pens, or ball pens.
Stippling (next class) is very difficult / tiring without the technical pens. But unless you intend to draw regularly with P&I, I'd advice against purchasing the expensive technical pens. When unused for some time they will clog, even when reasonably thoroughly cleaned .
