Channel inlay without epoxy
I love channel inlay (stone, coral, shell etc in sterling silver). The technique I've been taught depends on the use of epoxy. Unfortunately, this limits the owner's options for cleaning the piece, as ultasound can loosen the epoxy and cause the inlay pieces to fall out.
I recently saw some fantastic Zuni pieces dating back to the 1930's. I'm thinking they probably didn't a lot of high adhesives lying around the pueblo. So this got me wondering - is there an inlay technique that can be done without epoxy?
