Re: Plant Parade Project September 2010

Thanks everyone for your comments. We had a demonstration at our watercolor group last month that showed how to work wet in damp. I applied the techniques for the background of my yellow frangi.

Dewi, love your unique approach.

Kittie, I love your bright orange flowers. They just glow.

Rundun, a lovely entry for the first time in a plant parade. Lovely work on the shadows and curled petals.

Nguyen, you're not too late, glad you posted this lovely flower.

Dewi, thanks for the beautiful gallery. It's so nice to see them all together.

Anne

Re: Plant Parade Project September 2010

Thanks for the lovely gallery Dewi and for hosting a great month.

Looks like I missed a few.

KreativeK - love your cute cherub

Missswiss - very striking painting on the dark back ground

Kittierue - lovely colour in yours, really stands out.

Dewi - exquisite..and on wood. I would have left heaps of little red spots if I attempted anything like that

NXH - lovely water colour

See everyone next month

Re: Plant Parade Project September 2010

Wow what a gallery. Stunning work by everyone

I was very good and started mine in the first couple of days in September but then ...... nothing.
Having got a nudge yesterday, I decided to see if I coul just squeeze it in before the deadline. I had to chuckle at myself though - I wanted to do it in coloured pencil after my success with the poppies to see if I could catch the light. Part of the way through I found that I don't have any pink coloured pencils - just some magenta and real reds that are too orangy.

Anyway this is where I am at at the moment and I am trying to decide whether or not to leave it and wait for supplies, or complete it in soft pastel which I am leaning towards.

The pale pink that you can see is the underpainting done in NeocolourII and washed with alcohol.

Your flower is so soft and very lovely.

Marion, nice to see you again, that is colourful and lovely IMHO soft pastel would be a very good idea too.
