I have a chance to get my hands on a 48×72 canvas print wrapped on wooden frame & I want to paint over it. What would I have to do to prepare the surface for acrylic paint? I wouldn’t be able to afford this size so I thought why pass it by. All help is appreciated.

Assuming there’s no texture on the print, a gentle sanding to rough it up and few [two or three] coats of primer should work to make it usable.

To be cautious tho, you might want to experiment on a smaller print before you waste a bunch of time/paint/effort on a large one.
