January 31, 2018 at 4:37 pm #555876Fantastic photos, Kay. Such variety! I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with, and hope to work on one or two of these, myself. That pig cracks me up! Love the cowboy, too, and the junk store. Thanks for hosting for us this month.

February 3, 2018 at 11:43 am #55589115 3/4″ x 13 5/8″, Watercolor on (barn) Wood
This piece was an experiment using Daniel Smith watercolor ground and traditional watercolors on a wood panel from Hobby Lobby. The wood isn’t really barn wood, but that makes for a better title and texture. The pallet was limited to Quin Gold, Quin Burnt Orange, and French Ultramarine Blue.
Thank you Kay for the reference.

February 3, 2018 at 11:20 pm #555878Fantastic painting, Scott! Love the rich color of the sky, and your grasses are just so beautifully done. The barn looks ancient and weathered. Really lovely work!

February 3, 2018 at 11:30 pm #555856Really, really, really, really REALLY a stunning painting of the Ulmer barn! Perfect texture in the time worn old structure with its rotting wood. I am amazed at the support how well it benefits the subject matter…not seen it at HL.
