Color Mixing

I have been mixing away for the mix it up project. It seems like I can't get any really original colors though. Everything I get looks similar to already existing colors. Any advice?

Hi Amy!!!

May I ask if you've gone any further with this? What colors are you trying to mix - this might help with suggestions?

I'm looking at my color wheel, so bear with me... have you taken one of the colors your using and changed the tint by adding white or the shade by adding black or the tone by adding gray? And yes, I know this isn't exactly paint we're working with, so it doesn't always work this way...

I've always wanted to mix Coral with Trans. Dark Purple to get a Mauve - anyone else try this combo? Thoughts - suggestions - complaints... LOL
