Nominate your favorite links here

This is the place to leave a link to a thread in the digital channel that you think others will find useful. By leaving your favorite Wet Canvas links here, there will be an easy way to find them... even if they don't make their way into the Library.

Re: Links

How to find old Links

If you have a tutorial by a specific person in mind, click on their name and select the proper link from the drop down menu. IE, "find all posts by......" When you have found the specific link you want to include, post it here. This way, even if it does not end up being included into the library the link will still be here, and easily found. This is not the place for WIP's or Project threads.
This thread is just for instructional links and any other suggestions should be made in the regular digi art forum. Please remember to also put the thread name of the link for future reference.

Re: Links

Not quite about art, but a terrific browser to view it with. The opera browser, for those who are not familiar with it yet is a more secure, and faster browser then any other I have tried. One thing in particular I like about it is the ability to enlarge my web page. Up to 1000%, with a single click of the mouse. When viewing the smaller pics on wet canvas this can really be a handy feature. Its amazing what you can see if you enlarge them. Of course it doesn't restore them to the origional but it helps.

Opera Browser

go from this

to this

Re: Links

There is an extension for firefox - called 'Image Zoom' here. Basically lets you zoom in on images while in the browser. The only thing is that it pixelates the images. (it only resizes, nothing else.) Edit: There is another one here, called zoomFox.
Unfortunately, the bugs are quite severe.

Known bugs:
Does not work on local images.
Does not work with Greasemonkey

There are plenty of tutorials here
I thought this was about wetcanvas only links however .

Re: Links

Dregnought, no, not just Wet Canvas links. When this thread origionated not all the threads members wanted to keep track of were transfered to the library so links to them could be put here if members chose to do so. However, that did not exclude other links.

Re: Links

here's two matte painting tutorials i found

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to take a concept, develop it using linear perspective, then add in value and color perspectives, and then apply photographic references to achieve a realistic matte painting. You’ll then learn how to apply adjustments to achieve realistic scale, and understand the properties of light and atmospherics for realism. Lastly, you’ll learn some great compositional techniques.

In this tutorial, Stas Lobachev will walk you through his creation of “Pandora Afterdark”, a digital matte painting that received a Golden Award and 2nd place in a pre-release competition hosted by CGTalk.ru. You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of how to develop a concept sketch, work with lighting and color, use references and develop a meaningful artwork with a strong composition and clear message.

Re: Links

Here's a few I find invaluable:

https://matt-kohr.squarespace.com/

On the last link, Aaron Blasie has lots of free videos and also on his site very reasonably priced videos and brushes for Photoshop.
