Re: March op's challenge and chat

Hmm. Some abstract selections to try? Surrealism?

I know that would force me into trying it.

But I agree, this reference pic looks so neat - as well as yours!

I like both ideas

I was also thinking about hosting some next month challenge... maybe May?

Yes, for better or worse, to be unable to drive when you're not within any easy walking distance of stores is kind of a liability. I'm pretty sure that city and community layouts are better planned in other parts of the world!

But don't get me wrong - driving can be scary for me, too! Those big trucks were scary when I was on a highway in my blue VW Beetle.

Re: March op's challenge and chat

I love driving. I drive a sixteen year old Toyota Celica VVTL-i T-Sport named Lexa and she is my baby

Some lovely work in this thread, guys! Terriks, you've developed a really recognisable and very attractive style.

Looking forward to the Surrealism challenge. I will try and drag my inner muse from nudes and participate. She's stubborn but I'll do my best.

Tuscanny, may I host June, please?

Yeah, but I bet you love this feeling of freedom when you drive I am sure it's very cool

Re: March op's challenge and chat

Thanks for the kind words, Sarah!

Lexa is beautiful. I love dark blue on cars. No wonder you love her. I didn't want to give up my Bug - after 6 years together, that turbo engine and I were "one" on the road. But I had taken a job that involved a lot of highway driving to reach, and after several white-knuckled trips when big semi-trailers about blew me off the road, I had to get the feel of more steel around me! *sigh* That little car flew, and was easy to park, too.

Re: March op's challenge and chat

Count me in for a late March (in this hemisphere, anyway) entry! I had to take a swing at the Volkswagen. Started way too small, which gave me problems and forced me to simplify some detail, but such as it is, here it is. Cray-Pas; Sennelier blender; a tiny bit of colored pencil (tail lights); a tiny bit of Conte black pencil:
