David 1

Hi. I am new to this section, and have just ventured into taking my more conventional watercolours into the abstract.

I thought of starting with the surprising colour combinations used by David Hicks (the late, famous and controversial Interior Designer). So this is David 1, and will form a series.

14 x 14 cms
Bockingford 300gsm

C & C welcomed, please.

Really cool. The blue and yellow pieces at the top, with the red box that looks like it's hanging from a string give this picture tension...like I'm waiting for something to happen.

John, a big welcome to the forum! Series are fun, hard work, thought-provoking, and growth stimulating for sure. You have a great headstart with this one.

There is something very engaging about this..the only slight crit would be maybe to use less of the darks in the next one as there is an awful lot of brown in the top quadrant of the painting..but I do like it.
