Re: What are you Working on Today?

I was working on this 16x20 acrylic but I have put my paints away and put this in the corner until I can get a better feel for it or something.

Then I got out my drywall mud and started this, which ties in to some pieces I did this spring.

I've done some quick computer sketches for a painting I'd like to do. I'm still messing around with it, and I'm new to painting, so there's no knowing where it's going.

This is outside my familiar realm in a number of ways. I'll be using acrylics, and probably pastels. The moon is meant to be a whimsical face, and I don't do whimsy. So we'll see how the style will work itself out. Also, unfamilar with these mediums. (deep breath...)

Today's work 8.25x5.25 watercolor in my grunge journal sketched using STA Lictin 0.2 pigment liner pen. The vintage book from 1950 has had this page gessoed partly and text is visible outside that.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

A very basic quick sketch of a waxwing keeping my grandson occupied. It's a simple drawing, and a big step for me, picking up a pencil to draw anything. Not really worth posting, but it's a start.
Phone camera is grainy.

Au contraire Ian, it is very postworthy. You should paint a copy too, it would look beautiful in color. Great to see art from you again.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

This is my first visit here. I'm working at getting myself going, I think. Maybe not.
I slept over 11 hours last night. Today is dull and dreary, and sitting under a blanket with a good book, hot cocoa, and an attendant to see to my wants and needs sounds like a good plan.
However, I don't really have a good book, my drink is now cold tea, and there's no attendant about, either.
IF I do get going, I will work on composition drawings for a painting I've wanted to do for years, and maybe add a layer of color to a landscape painting that's sitting here looking at me.
Oh, dreary day...

Thank you, Margaret.

I walked to the local church with a pad. A piece of thin charcoal and some chalk. I sat on a wall and sketched some Birch. Pretty basic, but good practice.
