Re: Capturing a Mood in Oils

Youve certainly created a mood. This is a very arresting painting. Is the focus as soft IRL or is the camera capture adding to it?

Thank u oily gf . The lighting is uneven in the pic and tends to appear darker on top than in real life. It was the best I could do for light right now

This is very emotional, Becca- maybe sadness? or thoughtfulness?
It is all up to the interpretation, unless you tell us?

Bethnay. Sorrow and passion .... a sense of loss and unknown.....suppose all were on my mind. I am pleased the intensity of feeling is here to you most of all! Thank you.

Wanda. Thank you

I usually really try to not tweak, but there were a couple things still not setting right with me this morning, so I worked on them...tried for a better pic, but the light still isn't the best...

Re: Capturing a Mood in Oils

I like the over exposed sections and the structure. I'm not a big fan of black (particularly against a strong red). It's obviously a person preference though as other people comment on images that often I can't look at. This isn't quite like that I just think the black and red look harsh.

This is just my opinion and it only relates to the colours (which are often hard to photo) and not the overall composition.

Nathon, thank you...it is a very deep purple, and I I think in better light that is more obvious...still thanks for your opinion, I appreciate it.
