Night Sky

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Night Sky
Year Created:
Medium: Watercolor
Surface: Watercolor Paper
Dimension: 12 x 6.5
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This is my second watercolor, it is a composite from a few photos from a photo group that allows artists to paint their photos. I think I got some of it right but perhaps not all. The Milky Way is stunning and I tried to capture that. I think it got a little muddy at the bottom. I did use white acrylic paint to lighten at the bottom of the watercolor because it looked muddy.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Any comments are welcome especially since this is a new medium to me and I have no formal training at all in this medium.

Re: Night Sky

I do not feel qualified to give comments on works in watercolor. I wonder if you would consider posting in the Watercolor Forum?

Re: Night Sky

It's not a "watercolor" since it partly uses acrylic; that would be "watermedia" which has its own forum. However, it is a painting, so it seems like usual critique criteria could be applied.

Re: Night Sky

Sure, please put this in the watercolor critique since there is one small area of acrylic paint (less than 1/2 wide), near the chairs, if you think that is appropriate.

Thanks,
Brooke

I'd like to get some clarity here - I am a watercolorist and had intended to post a painting on this forum, but I've now decided not to. Are we to understand that watercolorists should not post their work on the structured critique forum because moderators do not feel qualified to comment on works done in watercolour?

If so, please state it clearly in the guidelines for all to see. You might also want to specify which mediums are appropriate for this part of the website.

Re: Night Sky

There's no critique subforum in the watercolor forum.
