My harbour obsession

Kind of an imaginate harbour using mostly gray and turquoise colors. Also, some splash of white and blue using a tooth brush in onder to make a hazy effect.
Van gogh watercolor on Arches rough paper - 35 x 28 cm.

Re: My harbour obsession

I really enjoy your style Andre! I think Van Gogh paints are underrated, I've been using their Ultramarine Deep and I love it

Re: My harbour obsession

This is stunning! You have the effect of pastel, but done in watercolor. The composition, colors, impact is super!

A very nostalgic, almost slavic atmosphere.

Very beautiful.

Thank you.

Re: My harbour obsession

Thank you everyone!

Greg, I like Van Gogh but I am look forward to try Lukas watercolor. I heard highly about it.

Indraneel, the pastel effect was unintentional and probably came from my mix of white-blue splashes in some parts, when the painting was still wet. Sometimes I don't know exactly what I am doing. LoL. Thank you.

Re: My harbour obsession

Beautiful sky and reflected light, a lovely scene! I agree that it is rather like an old master painting. Love your palette!

Re: My harbour obsession

Although I also liked the result I have to say that it is an experimental watercolor painting and unfortunately looks better on the screen than in the paper because I've lost some transparency on the water, due to the amount of paint I used. In my opinion, the composition is the winner.

I am flattered with the comments. Thank you all so much.

Re: My harbour obsession

I enjoy your palette and the way you suggest shapes and rigging without going into too much fine detail.
