Campo de' Fiori market

Type of Watercolor Paint: W&N
Type of Paper: 180 g Arches
The Size: 30cmx40cm
The Reference Source: my photo

The next one in my series of Italy paintings.
Campo de' Fiori means field of flowers and since 1869 there is a daily vegetable and fish market.

The atmosphere is very nicely captured -
one smells formally the displayed goods!

Greg, yes this filtered soft light shining through the parasols was a cause why I painted this market scene.

Ernst, Rome is definitely the home of the tiny cars. A Ford Fiesta is a giant in these narrow streets.

Linda, the fruits and vegetables were done quickly, mostly wet in wet with just some dry spaces for the highlights. I am not very patient.

Maribeth, yes she is doing something. When I look at him, I get the feeling he is just watching her working.
