It was a windmil. In this part of Norfolk either a co rn mill or a pumping mill. Probably a corn mill. The sails have been removed.
Here’s Cley Mill I did in 2008 now a B&B.

Lovely work Doug, glad to see your computer is back and in action.

I really like all your sketches and painting.
Especially the last one Cley Mill. Wow… that is super.
( it doesn’t have a fence obscuring) and the painting feels like it has a bit more play in it.

Beaut work -beaut images.

I guess we will be able to do a course in architecture if we keep going at this rate..

When I go on holiday Kerri I always take my camera and sketchbook and look around for suitable painting subjects. Corton village was lacking in suitable subjects, this was the best.

While sketching at the field gate I was cornered by two Jehovah’s Witnesses

Congratulations Tanja, all you need is a few shadows, one to emphasise the roundness of the mill tower and shadows to emphasise the various buildings in the mid-ground. Nice foreground.

I think it’s the same place – I Googled Corton Mill cos I was curious, and this came up. It says Suffolk though, rather than Norfolk. Is it near a Warner Leisure place, Doug?
