Happy Valentine's day!

Actually, I never get excited about Valentines day lol. Just another commercialized day. However, the skating rink canteen, which is the closest thing we have to a restaurant these days, is doing Chinese food today.

Absolutely Maureen! It wouldn't be the same without you!

Blue can have all the cheese steak, I'd prefer tea and gluten free crumpets!

Tea and gluten free crumpets?....instead of a cold lager and a cheese steak!...gosh, what’s happening to humanity?..

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

Lager and cheesesteaks both have gluten. I have celiac disease and would be sick enough to die if I ate those ghastly things! I've always dislike beers (yuck!) and, when I first moved to Philly and before I was diagnosed with Celiac I tried multiple cheesesteaks. Yuck! They are so gristly! If I have to eat a sandwich I like turkey or roast beef and lots of crunchy veggies although when Lady Carol and I went out I had a damned good burger at a place with gluten free buns- oh and awesome sweet potato fries!

Today I made pizza with a new crust mix- gluten free obviously. It was delicious! I do like some of the hard ciders but I'm really not into the feeling I experience with alcohol. Although... a good margarita or some of the other mixed drinks- that taste good! And Indian food or Thai or seafood..... Mmmmm. Bluefish is a bit oily but I'm okay with it- if I must!

The young bluefish are delicuous..between a lb and 2....you are right, anything bigger is dark and oily...would go up on the beach and catch a few small ones at 5 PM, clean them and we would eat them at 6 PM ...wonderful...good beach living!: wave:

I'd go out on a boat with friends and we'd putter over to a island local to where we were back then. We'd catch several nasty bluefish on the excursion. My first experience with them and I was terrified! I thought they were going to eat the boat! Same friends would make some incredible fishermen's stew with the catch! It was good living so close to beaches and the ocean growing up.

You don’t have to be terrorized by this ‘bluefish’...he’s old and gentle!..
Agree, nice living on the beach, except in super storms, nor’easters, hurricanes, etc.

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

We survived the yard sale, managed to clear out some junk... err fantastic treasures At least we have some empty totes and maybe some empty space after we clean up and organize a bit. So... I was tired and didn't feel like cooking, we went out to eat. After a very late lunch/early dinner Jon went in to get ice cream for dessert. I opened it and it was soup. It appears our freezer decided to die while we were busy with the sale. Grrr. We have a new one ordered but now I have to cook a few things that started thawing. Just can't get a break!!!

Garage sales are fun but also a LOT of work for the sellers! I go around to several every weekend in the summer months. There are always a few, even in our tiny town. You can find some great bargains. We had one this summer. Great way to get rid of clutter.
