"The Old Sea Dog"

This is an 8x10 on White smooth Claybord. Titled: "The Old Sea Dog".
It's my very first experimental with that board with color. Used india ink, watercolor and some acrylics
C&C always appreciated

Re: "The Old Sea Dog"

Bertoni, I just love this. I am doing the same subject right now(as I can) on both black and white boards, and it is really doing something to my mind to switch from positive to negative and back again. I find the white board easier to my drawing mind of black and color on white, but the black board is just so dramatic. Unfortunately, my drawing technique is much better than my engraving technique - I'm just feeling my way. Your work is really so lovely, I hope you do more on white.

The dog looks great. I can practically hear him pant.

Re: "The Old Sea Dog"

What a great dog - and I really like the background, too - particularly the sky! Any chance we could see some closeups? Maybe of the sky and the fur?

Tania:
Here are a couple of closeups. They're not good shots, but gives you an idea of how it went.
