The great outdoors

From one of Rich's references on pmp, 23x17. The only thing missing is the trout

Re: The great outdoors

Not a single thing is missing! I like the rocks, the way the water is folding over in the front, and the viewer's perspective.

Very appealing and soothing...and warm looking!

Re: The great outdoors

How beautiful! I'm not familiar with this particular ref image from Rich, so a "missing trout" just makes me laugh.

The foliage is lovely, and your handling of the water looks great. I like seeing those rocks in the shallow foreground. Good stuff!

Re: The great outdoors

Thanks Mary, Tammy and Terri! Terri with all that clear rushing water and the pics I've seen , I just have to think of the annual migration of trout to spawn.

Ah, okay, now I get it. You are thinking of all the jumping trout that should be here. I agree that they would fit right in this painting!

I love it Christel! Looks so real and brings me back to that walk along the river. I like how you stayed true to the image and even included the "rock chair" in the foreground. Nice big size at 23x17... is that inches or cm?

Re: The great outdoors

Thanks Rich! Inches - a nice big size to try and get all that foliage in. A great challenge.

Re: The great outdoors

Wonderful work, Christel, I'm enjoying all the details!
Aha, so it was inches - I couldn't understand how you managed to include all the details in 23x17 cm format

Really lovely with all the smooth movement across the painting

Re: The great outdoors

Thanks Mira! I picked up this bad habit of not saying inches as I see nearly everyone does it. On the other hand metric measurements will always get the appropriate units with them.
