Re: Grandpa's Treasures

Hi Kym,

This looks great! Adding the shadow under the jar makes a big difference! A couple people have mentioned the top lip of the jar not reading quite right. I think it just needs to be rounded. Your ellipse has a bit of an angle! I put it into photoshop - hope you don't mind!

Hope this helps!

Don

Fantastic painting, Kym. The shadow under the jar makes a huge difference. Way to stick at it.

Re: Grandpa's Treasures

Thanks Don - I was hoping you would come on this thread and do your magic! That is exactly what I was trying to say, but when you show it on the image it makes so much more sense!!!

Re: Grandpa's Treasures

Thanks so much for the C&C everyone. Its amazing how much help a fresh pair of eyes is. Here is the final version. I corrected the mason jar and made some spot changes here and there to the highlights and shadows. I'm hoping to frame it today - if I can chase the cats off of the table long enough to get it done...

This is awesome! Makes me want to go check out my Grandfather's old cigar box full of knick knacks...maybe in 20 years I'll be able to do something like this! Well done.

Re: Grandpa's Treasures - FINISHED

Thanks so much everyone! I think back on my grandfather's toy box with a lot of fond memories. I might have to tackle this one again, with some other objects from that box.
