Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

Hello! Is there no way at this time to upload images from a phone? An Android phone? I've tried repeatedly, with no success. I've done a search and come up with nothing that helps.
I am currently having to email myself photos, then connect to the internet from my laptop and post photos from my laptop. Would like to eliminate two of those steps.

Thanks!

Shallbe

I am sure it can be done. You can resize the photos in the camera first.

I'll get back to you.

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

OK I used iResizer to resize my photo to 800 pixels then in the chrome browser I used the uploader choosing my photo from the iResizer folder in Documents. Note, I must keep my finger off the lens (new phone)

PS This was done on my phone which runs Android 6.0.

PPS I have just realised that was your first post. you are not able to upload pictures until your third post - an ant porn spambot measure.

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

Hi Yorky,

When I try to upload a photo, I cannot choose Browse. I can get in thru choose photo, but once in my files it is not showing photos to choose from. The default is GIFs but even when I change to ALL FILES, the photos do not appear for selection. There used to be an easy uploader when I was a member before.

I have tried for a month to figure this out and have yet to get a photo on here other than my avatar. Help please

It sounds as if you are browsing the wrong folder on your computer.

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

Well, it is in my folders for pictures, and they were all saved as jpegs. Not sure what other folders to look in.

Why am I not even getting the browse option from the website?

Hey there Yorky,

Tonight when I logged in the browse function appeared. Don't know what magic you did, or maybe it was luck, but I am back in business and everything is working now. Thank you

Good to hear that. These glitches come to try us from time to time.

If it isn't site problems it is the slow internet resonse

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

Hey, how do I decrease the File Size of the image I want to use for my avatar? I've already decreased it's size to 60x60 pixels, but the overall File Size apparently is still too large? I don't know how this can be, and when I took a look it said it was like 12 or 16 whatevers?
Help!
Please!
Thanks!

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

I'm surprised the 60x60 pixel image exceeds the wetcanvas limit. Are you saving it as a jpg file? I use a Jpeg Optimiser to save pictures for wetcanvas. Mine is built into paintshop pro. There is an online version you can use, see the link in my signature.

. Thanks. using the i pad works great for taking pictures of the art, it would be great to be able to just send it in right from the i pad. thanks for any help you can come up with...

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

It depends on the size of your picture. If the file is too large the uploader can't resize it. I can upload photos taken with my lowly iPad2, they are too big but the uploader can cope.

When you use the uploader mountain icon it asks you whether to use the camera roll or take a photo. Whether it resizes depends on the size. It often happens that the resultant picture is not oriented correctly. Some experimentation will be required.

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

This is an old thread but the problem continues. I am unable to post any photos on this website from my iPhone, iPad or iMac. Whenever I try, I get a prompt saying the image size is too large. Unfortunately, Apple recently issued an update that makes it difficult if not impossible to resize photos. In the past, you could resize photos by emailing a copy to yourself, which would give you a prompt to select an image size (small, medium, large, etc). That feature has been lost in a recent Apple update, or the procedure changed in a way that I cannot figure out. I've tried posing this question on the Apple community forum as well as the Apple help line, and nobody can tell me how to do this. Has anyone else encountered this problem and figured out a solution?

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

Finally, a solution! I just spent over an hour on the phone with the Apple help line and they finally connected me with an iPhotos expert who quickly told me how to resize photos. Here is the process from my iMac.

1. Open iPhotos and select the shot that you want to resize. Just click on the photo so it is highlighted but don't open it.
2. Drag the selected photo to your desktop.
3. Double-click the image on your desktop, which will open the Preview mode.
4. In Preview, selected Tools and then Adjust Size.
5. Select pixels in the dropdown menu and the size. From experimenting with sizes, it appears that this website will not accept any photos larger than 600x800 pixels (or 750x750 for square photos). Change the resolution to 300.
6. Select OK, and then the photo is resize properly for this site. When you upload the photos here, make sure that you select the photos from you desktop, not your original iPhotos shots (which should remain the original size).

I forgot to ask the Apple tech how to resize photos on an iPad but will play around and see if these techniques will work there as well.

Re: RESIZING AND UPLOADING your PICTURES

Okay, I'm TRYING but it's not working. I find a picture on my Computer, the site automatically resizes it for me, but even my SMALLEST pictures (File Size AND Pixels) doesn't work. I get a link that says this - "Sorry, your file didn't come through. Please try again."

The Picture is like, "Downsized" even when it does not need to be and this window pops up, and I drag and drop and a link of sorts pops up on the Post and when I click on the link in the Preview it gives me that message. I don't know why.
And when I tried just clicking on the picture teh whole window disappears. =-(!
Help!
