"Behind The Mask"

Hey guys! Great day! I had the opportunity to incorporate a scratchboard into a project I'm working on for my 9-5 full time gig. I actually sat in front of camera an was taped doing this piece from beginning to end! Never did a piece in one sitting. Or in front of non family members! Took a little over an hour. The final edit will be time lapsed for other employees to see. It's not highly detailed but it was a lot of fun!
It's 8 x 10 and is a simple split screen type of thingy of a man and an african mask!

I also noticed that my scanner bed seems to have a few little finger prints on it.

Need to have a chat with the kiddies about that!

Mychael, how cool is that? I think I would have melted under the pressure but you did superb. Now I guess I know two movie stars, YOU and Rod-man. The detail and texture of this is awesome. Rock on!

great work and that is a lot of pressure not to make a mistake. I am not sure I would be able to work so quickly or in front of a movie camera like that!

This is so cool! I really like working in front of people. If I can find that place in between my "zone" and my "showing off" head space, I do fine. It can be a lot of fun.

Re: "Behind The Mask"

Mychael! this is just so cool - both the work and the video project! I really like the difference in the skin and wood textures. I also like the psychologically commentary/impact of seeing half of the man's face covered by a mask. A mask that on first glance seems strange and slightly foreboding, but compared to the intense gaze of the man, is actually quite benign. Really good work!

Re: "Behind The Mask"

Diana & Tania - Thank u two so much for your kind words! This is one of those pieces that sets you up for getting on a roll of doing more more more! Lucky day indeed - I just found two blank boards that my wife bought me a year ago and must have misplaced until I was moving some things around trying to create a little studio space! and Ta-da! there they were! So stay tuned!
