wde 18 dec - ronnie's landscape (very very late)

this took way over 2 hours. more like 8, probably. and i can't say i'm at all happy with the result. it just looks so wrong for some reason. i nearly gave up at about hour 3 and again at about hour 5. but i had to keep going. i've got so many unfinished things floating around, i was determined not to have another. not that you could really call this a finished painting

anyway, it's student acrylics on gesso'd masonite. 30x40cm.

Welcome to WDE. This is a great start. The trees look very good. Maybe the ones in the background are a little too uniform.

Love the foreground trees, the branches are great and the colors are glorious. I hear ya about the unfinished pieces; mine are piling up.

thank you connie, coaltip, ros, ep and joanne for you kind comments

i was really hating this, but not feeling too bad about it now.

ros, i know what you mean about the background trees. i really struggled with them in the sense of getting the further back ones to sit further back. i might just go back in and play with the shadows in the front back trees (if that makes sense? lol).

Nice job on the foreground trees and branches, the softer colored ones.
