The city - my late father's casein

This is a 50+ years old painting of my late father. I just wanted to share it to revive memories. It is about 65x45 casein on paper (under glass).

Nijaz, I hope the genes run true. This is a spectacular piece of work.

Re: The city - my late father's casein

Thank you Regina, Egon and Annie. My father would have been delighted if he could hear your comments. And I must say I'm proud of his work and that you liked it. I dew something from him but would never come close. After all he was a pro and he had such an ease in producing wonderful relaxed yet accurate Leonardish drawings. He mostly did children books illustrations for living. As a painter he mostly produced abstract works and the above one is one of the few in different style. In life this one has incredible miniaturist details which do not show on this rather inferior photo taken through the glass with flash and trying to avoid reflection - so it became a bit blurred. I always wondered how on earth could he get so tini details even with the best quality kolinski brushes he used...

I love this piece. I can't express myself any more clearly than that.

Love this! It first reminded me of Charlie Harper's work....but also looks like American folk art....very cool!
