I'm a watercolor painter. I learned more about acrylics on this painting. I was confused while doing this. They didn't cover as easily as I thought they might. They really don't flow like watercolors. Mixing takes forever.
But! they work good for my style of painting which consists of winging it while confused, and then going over and erasing and editing until I wrestle it into something that my eye can tolerate.
This was supposed to be more of an abstract landscape and then things got real-ish. Not sure what happened there. It was supposed to be simple. Ha.
Using the knife was fun! Can't do impasto with watercolor.
I'm going to focus on acrylics now. They do much of what both watercolors and oils do. Very capable medium.
I hope to contribute more and learn more here on this forum from you wonderful people from around the world.
12 x 18 inches on birch panel. To make it even more confusing I used black gesso to prime the board.
Never painted on black before. Learning experience.
