Interesting painting, it has strong feel. May I ask why ink on canvas? An unusual a choice of medium for a canvas painting. Did you gesso the canvas first? Aleada

I did this to test how ink on canvas works by itself, no gesso. I like it, it behaves a lot like gouache

Good for you experimenting is important,and it worked, now are you going to frame it under glass, how are you going to treat it?

That's very cool how you achieved all the halftones using ink. I know it's washes of varying degree, but that's not easy and you've handled it amazingly well. Has a feel almost like charcoal or graphite.

If you decide to fix it with an acrylic spray just do a small test on another canvas with the gesso and sumi ink and see if that will protect it perhaps that would be the best way, don't know but just a thought.
