Re: Scavenger Hunt #406 - May 21 - 29

I live north of Dallas now. We haven't had power outages. We have flash flood watches and warnings. My back yard is like a marsh. On the other hand, I think the Texas drought has finally broken in all but the driest places. We actually had a sunny day yesterday. It is supposed to rain again for the next 3 days. Glad to hear your folks are safe, Jo.

Well done everyone!

Lots of nice new drawings in the thread!
I'm not getting much done at the moment with planting and all those sorts of things. Hopefully next week I'll have more time...until the weeds come up in full force

Anyhow I did manage this one round midnight. Not too pleased with it, but there it is...I should have drawn the grid lines on my table too, not just the ones all curving in the bottles. Next time I'll remember.

#6 - Let's light through - alcohol inks in their little plastic spray bottles.

Joe, mmmm, I love those almonds! Probably if you make the bottom lines darker like in painting, they would sit down a bit more. Nice texture. I've been gluten free for 10 years or so. I thought I would lose weight but I eat too much corn in place of flour, like corn tortillas. Cake is a treat, don't have it often.

Joan, we like the shaking flashlight much more than the crank one we had. It holds a charge for a while. I like the portrait, you are doing well with those. Cute ducky and lovely scenery. I thought I had mentioned, the wedding was our youngest daughter, Jennie. She married a good guy. They have been together about 4 years.

Hi Scatty, thank you for the Hunt. I had some relaxing moments sketching.

Ah, Kivrin, I thought you were in the Houston area. Happy that you are mostly dry and safe. Lots of small tornadoes too, so keep your head down.

Meisie, I love the alcohol inks. Well done!

I sketched in the big sketchbook with same tools.
Number 6, coiled - the ties on my painting apron.
Number 7, petals - on a dandelion, we have so many since the yard is too wet to mow! They look pretty. Ha.

I put up Hunt 407 for tomorrow, too.

Thanks to all for supportive comments. Truly thank you all.

Joan - love the little duck. Nice work on the hair. Great skintones.

Meisie - nice work on bottles. What do use spray bottles of ink for?

Jo - nice line work on apron and flower. I lost about 5 lbs the first few weeks we went gluten free, but put it plus 5 more on as I started finding gluten free substitutes...oh and cholesterol went up too! Started reading and comparing labels. Many add saturated fats or sugar to replace the flavor when removing gluten.

Glad all are Texas friends are high and dry.
Joe

Thanks Joe! I use the inks for art journaling and card making. They are great for adding a touch of colour, without adding too much liquid!

Kat - Thanks!

Kivrin - Glad to hear things aren't too bad for you. Can't imagine that much rain. We have hardly had any here lately which can be a problem.

Meisie - Love the colorful bottles of ink.

Jo - I must have missed the info about the wedding. Congrats! Good job on the dandelion and the apron.

Joe - Thanks.

Not much from me.
12 - shiny faucet - water-soluble pencil and ink
