Arrow Scavenger Hunt #406 - May 21 - 29

Scavenger Hunt #406 - May 21 - 29
If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...366347&page=44

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

***If you have some hunt sketches completed, but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyway. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary.***

#1 for me - Something made of wood

I think it is supposed to be a computer desk/cabinet, but I use it for writing and 'office' work.

Meisie - nice sketch. I love watercolor sketches. They always have a sense of movement that I like.

Here is my "made of wood". Intent was to do it as a sketch as I would with graphite and paper. Used procreate HB pencil, smudge and erase brushes.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #406 - May 21 - 29

Sure drawing Joe...I find it hard to draw straight lines on a screen (funny that )
Thanks...I do so like sketching with wc...it is such FUN!

#2 from me - Stored in a tin - the Inktense Pencils...they were getting mixed up with other pencils in the cup, so back into the tin they went, where they now live ( I drew this way round and wrote 'sideways Hey I started the day with a migraine...might as well have fun!)

Kat - Thanks for the new list. Great sketch to start us off. I love the rumpled look to the pile of items on the chair.

Kivrin - Thanks for a link to that wonderful portrait. Love the shading on his face and hand.

Meisie - I like that wood cabinet. It is great to be able to close your work behind doors when you want. Nice sketch of the inktense pencils in the tin. I have the same set.

Joe - Nice lines on your tv stand.

1 - decorative key hanger by my door - watercolors and ink
2 - petals on the poppies - watercolors
3 - made of wood (fence)

Re: Scavenger Hunt #406 - May 21 - 29

Nothing to post yet but wanted to comment before list got too long.

First, Kivrin, your portrait of your husband is fantastic!! On the Treat I like the use of shading without lines to make the nuts. Gives the idea you are looking thru something to see them. Nice.

Meisie - sorry about the headache, but you did a nice job on the tin

Joan - perfect weekend for poppies. Key holder is cool.

Thanks to all for kind words.
Joe
