Elizabeth- Welcome! Nicely done thumb, shoulders, wrapper and towels. Clever two fingers. Like the dryers.
Ai- Thanks
Robin- Thanks
J- Thank you. I don't usually do charcoal. I felt like doing something different.
Joan- Love the musicians. Really well done
Carole- Thanks. Lovely thumb.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #400 Apr 3-11

Joan really great ones. The musicians just radiate with joy.

Carole very nice job on the thumb.

I may be in and out irregularly for a few days. The external fan for my laptop went out last night and computer heated up and had a shut down. Scared me to death. I ordered one online but won't be here until Friday so will not stay online as much. I joined Art Tutor for a month to take some of their classes. I am now doing that on my ipad. Nice classes.

Carole - Thank you. Nice shading on your thumb.

Ai - Thanks. Three of us from our sketch group went the other night to Bellport to sketch the musicians at an acoustic jam. We were the only audience so we had good views. One of the musicians was the publisher of an online newspaper and he asked each of us to send jpgs him our sketches because he wants to post them in the "Seen and Heard" section of the paper. It was a lot of fun doing them.

5 - seascape - watercolors
6 - tree - watercolors and ink
7 - top of the railing posts
8 - something twisted (branches and grasses)

Re: Scavenger Hunt #400 Apr 3-11

I am like Hope, I wrote my comments the other day when I got the list and they are not here. Now I wrote them all again and closed the window. Shucks. So here goes, not as spontaneous or clever. Ha.

Ai, I loved the group with the fun shoulder sketch and texture.

Jeanne, thanks for the list. Robin a thousand lashes with a wet noodle! Evil grin.

Kivrin nice charcoal thumb. Nice, I do not like to do that, nice to see. I like the simple line sketches with minimal shading. The forms came out well.

Joan, the music guys are super. Nice textures and gestures. I always love your outdoor scenes, just lovely.

anotherelizabeth, welcome. I like your shading and lines. Good finds and super job on the perspective.

Carole, nice to see you. I really like your shading on the thumb so it is the highlight of the sketch. Great!

I finally went and sketched outside, nice day today. Will almost be hot later. This is in a watercolor sketchbook, 7 x 10 inches. I used the waterbrush and a Micron 05.

#1, tree trunk(s)
#2, texture - the lava rocks from New Mexico

Re: Scavenger Hunt #400 Apr 3-11

Thanks, Ai.
I sketched again this morning at my desk. Handy items. Smiling. In the large sketchbook with a Micron 05, quickly as I can. It has taken me so long to do the rest today. I have started and stopped and started, etc. But here I am.

Number 3, two of something - pens
Number 4, thumb
Number 5, top of something - camera

Joan - love your “pickin’ n’ grinnin’ sketches. Your landscapes are so roomy and restful, I can almost smell the air.

Latedrawer - nice thumb, I like the way you put it in context but brought it forward.

Hi Ai

Kivrin - the three items create an interesting relationship in my brain…

Jo- I likie your simple sketches, because I knowin underneeth them is your dazzling touch you apply in chalk these simple sketches are like your delicate shoots.

I hope to catch a few today.

Peace , friends.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #400 Apr 3-11

Great job everyone. I'm getting excited. Next Monday is my second cataract surgery. Can't wait to see better with both eyes. The fixed one is getting tired of doing all the work. Besides I'm ready to not feel lopsided. lol
