This is nice. The exterior shapes kind of take away from your lovely s cubed design. I think they are competing in area and color strength.

One thing you could try is a subtle blend on the value scale lighter toward the edges to almost the value you have there (you did this somewhat on the lower right with the orange and the blend to orange-yellow green. On color pencil you can try watered down guache in white or a lighter hue. this is almost opaque so practice on scrap if you decide to try it.
Oil Paint may work even better.

Good work cubes are pretty tricky.

I rest my theory that most abstract painters are really designers.
