Maureen , have you had a good summer at the caravan? we are still popping out now and then, have not closed it up yet, in a few weeks.

been drying fruit successfully, so last night tried tomatoes, they turned out great!, what next? maybe beef jerky?

Thanks for all the prayers my friend got her heart and it seems to be going well so what a wonderful day. I really pray for peace and comfort for the donor family they have lost so much.

Bonnie - we're making as much use as we can but the weather has been so bad here this summer - since March, and the oopening of the season, we've had 3 good periods of hot weather - lasting about 3 or 4 days each - the rest of the summer has been the wettest on record!

Totally the opposite of the States and their hot, hot hot summer!

We came home on Monday after a reasonable w/end, and we'd had a good time with friends, so it was nice and we hope to get back Sunday perhaps if the forecast is hopeful - it's getting cool/cold though so we have to have the heating on nights and early mornings - brrr!
On the way home on Monday we passed a 'Fifth wheel' like yours - the first I've seen in this country! Here, caravans are either permanent, like ours, tourers towed by cars or 4x4s, or motorhomes - never before seen the shape/style like yours and towed/overlapped by a truck!

Must go draw ta ta!

Hi Everyone. It has been awhile since I have visited. It has been a really busy summer here. Have had several painting things going on here and enjoying them. I too, like Bonnie am always busy canning. Have canned green beans until I told Harry, no more. LOL... Even pickled some for him, which he likes better than pickles. Lots of sulsa, tomatoes, did grape jelly and peppers stuffed with sausages for my oldest son. I also can meat and am hoping the boys get elk next month when they go to Colorado.
Bonnie, and Astrid hope both your birthdays are or will be if you have not had yours yet Astrid. Glad your operation turned out well. Have been keeping up with you on Facebook. Hope your friend was able to get the heart transplant. It is sad for the family who loses someone, but a blessing if you are in need.
Harry and I will be having our 56th wedding anniversary on 22nd and our youngest son will be 51 so we are doing a river dinner cruise on the 22nd to celebrate both events. Looking forward to it. We went to Pa. yesterday for my 57th year class reunion and it was a fun time. Always enjoy getting to see some old friends and make new ones too. We also stopped by the nursing home to see Harry's older brother (92) and to see my only living brother (soon to be 85) and his wife, so we had a full day.
God continues to bless us and we are thankful everyday.
Hope you are all doing great and hoping to get back on WDE this week. I did do one from your WDE, Bonnie and took it to a show this last week. Saunie and I also did two days this past week at plein air in Wheeling and will be going next week for 3 days at the park where we went when you and Rex were here, Kat.

Mamme Vicki.....glad you popped in too. Glad to hear you made it over your hot summer, and now can get outside more. Mmmmmm Bacon, gotta have it, I'm with you, just something about that smell

August is our month I stay out of the sun more, just too darn hot. Our fall has been wonderful so far, mid twentys C. in day and just around twelve C at night. Can't complain with that.....

I'm off to make some "bacon"

All of the above. I finally have finished the wall hanging I did for ArtWalk here in Grand Haven. That has kept me totally out of circulation but it's done and delivered and I can get back to my computer and other art. I can't find the photo I took of the completed piece. I'll post it when I do.

Found, here it is and you will probably recognize one of the images from a WDE. The photo is not very good but I think you can get the idea. This is all fabric. I drew the images, stitched the lines I drew, then used colored pencil to finish them. Learned a whole lot as I went and would do it a little different if I were to start again but there wasn't time, it's hanging at our local historical museum.

Here is a close up of the top two because it's really hard to see, especially the top one.

Looking at the preview it doesn't appear the top two are any clearer. Anyway, it was a fun project and I am enjoying learning how to use the fancy sewing machine my dh gave me a couple years ago. This is another one I did using the same draw, stitch, colored pencil technique. Again, a WDE image...

Helen, what a great project....I just blew up the pic and you can see it fine, love the concept. That must be a great machine to work with.

Bonnie, yes, exhausted reading your honeydew-it-yrself list... glad he 'spoiled' you... YOU earned it!
Mary, all that running around! bless yr hearts.. how fun was all that!
already i forgot who else... but hi to all... cant believe i havent 'called home' in all this time... doctoring, eliminating things at least, and have a big one coming up tues... still coffing, my voice is a la Becall (for those who remember her), but my lungs are clear and there's no asthma... so tues we probe sinuses... i have a deviated septum as i've always known, but with all this swelling, the space is even smaller...havent 'fainted' per se but get lightheaded from lack of air... had 1 1/2 hr breathing test the other day "breathe normal"... (???) this Thurs started 37 WEEKS of this... at least if i were having a baby, i'd have something to show for the time spent in discomforture..... O, and my 'new laptop' harddrive died dead.... i'm on teags', which she doesnt use now that she turned 12 and got a phone. have a friend coming to spend the night, alll kinds of emergencies going on... just keep 'breathing normal', gang, and it'll get you thru..... miss you all... saw where Ros made a list of all the wde's i've missed (yes, it's all about ME!) so got to go thru some and oo and ah.... no creative juices tho i'm playing around with an idea with Zents & dd portrait..... if it EVer happens, will post... gotta run... hugs hugs hugs across the miles and nearby... wish we were closer!!! ...
