Dummy Deck

RNAS East Haven, HMS Condor2, Deck Landing Control Officers School. Dummy flight deck marked out on a runway, with the bus converted to represent the 'Island' on a Carrier. With set ups like this ( and we had many) Hitler never stood a chance!

Re: Dummy Deck

I believe the bus was recovered from a scrapyard and is now part of the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovil.

Re: Dummy Deck

Excellent Jim! Love the detail and the skill it takes to make this look so realistic.

Re: Dummy Deck

Thank you all for commenting. A large slice of artistic licence here, the runway would be twice as wide. But it had to be like this to get it all in. However the Escort Carriers were not much wider than this.
