Apples a la Lenox

Oil on canvas
8X10

Lenox china has its roots here in Trenton, NJ and makes some of the world's finest china.

I especially liked the bowls in a Lenox set I bought a few years ago.
I've been looking for something that I could combine with a bowl for a set up and these beautiful macs appeared.

How do they look?

Thank you.
The subject's colors just called to me. That rarely happens but when it does, it's time to paint!

Thank you, Boogechille and Kyle, for looking and commenting.
This set up is doomed.
I'll eat those apples tomorrow.
But more setups with the Lenox are on the way.

Re: Apples a la Lenox

Bill,
I very much like the overall composition of this work. Richness of color was my initial thought, a nice subtleness to color choice that blends well into the overall feeling. Your use of light and shadow is very nicely executed and I particularly like your suggestion of reflected light as highlighted on the rim of the bowl and the upper apple.

Grand work Mate !

Cheers,
Mike ☘️🇮🇪🇺🇸

This descendant of four grandparents from Tralee thanks you for you thoughtful and insightful look at my painting.
It's almost as if you had been looking over my shoulder while I was struggling with this one, and it was a struggle.
