All: My back pain goes away today ... Yeah... I probably need to get back to yoga or stretching routine again. Thanks for your good vibe.

Ai — I'm so happy that hear that you're feeling better

And I love your new image and poem. Your words are wise. And your image goes with your words.

I hope that when this poetry month is over 👣 you'll keep doing these combinations of words and images anyway 🎨 ✍️ They're wonderful and thoughtful (and synchronistically helpful too)!!! Thanks for sharing them with us 😍

EP, thanks, the bunny is so soft.

Ai, love the sketches and poems. The dolls are cuties. Sad you had a back issue, but happy it is better. Maybe loneliness. I'm smiling.

Scatty your little bottles are so cute and very well sketched.

Pine Cone, such a sweet butterfly and from your Mom. Cool....

Just didn't feel like sketching. Maybe tomorrow. I don't know how some of us sketch every day ... Joan, I'm thinking of. Take care all....

Sketches first; comments later.

coloured pencil on 5x6" across the two-page spread.

1. looking (at mug) from above
2. looking (at mug) from below.
3. bottom of something (computer mouse)
4. turned upside down (stapler)

I must admit I was confusing these items so three of them could be interchangeable.

When looking at the mug from above, that is an old tea bag in the now-empty mug. This is a square-format mug with art from Tom Tomson

Quote:
Canada’s Group of 7 painting movement officially began upon the untimely death of Thomson, which spurred his artist friends to pursue his vision. Thomson’s most famous works colourfully capture vistas in Ontario’s Algonquin Park, North of Toronto.

Cheers,

Hey, everyone!

Ep, I like your bottoms! I find it hard to drink from square cups, we made glasses from Jack Daniels bottles once. Daughter, Joanna, gave me a book of "Painting Canada" about Thomson and the Group of Seven. Interesting, made me feel close to your comments.

"J", Jeanne, oh, wow, love your shelf of goodies. Each part tells a story. So great to see you here. Applause!

Ai - Love all the illustrated poems. One made me laugh, one made me wince and hope you feel better and one made me think. Sounds like good art. Glad your back is feeling better.

Jo - Great job on fuzzy Hare.

Scatty - You really nailed the transparency. Text in perspective is always a major challenge and you did that beautifully as well.

Pine Cone - love the soft glow you achieved on the butterfly and the ground below. A gift from Mom makes it a valuable keepsake as well as a gorgeous piece.

EP - They are definitely interchangeable and well sketched.

Jeanne Ohh how I miss your wonderful compositions. Always full of fun and color to bring a smile.

1 grid - tile floor not great but it is a grid. HB graphite in sketchbook.

Keep sketching
Joe

J - great combo sketch with bonus piggie

Ai - thank you. Indeed that is the ASL (American Sign Language) sign for "I love you". It's like the "hang loose" gesture in Hawaii with the index finger raised

Jo - thank you. I think this is the first time I've heard someone tell me they like my bottoms LOL. Love love love the Group of Seven.

Joe - thank you. Check out that cool grid floor!

Re: Scavenger Hunt #582: Apr 2 - 10

Thanks so much Jo, EP, and Joe

EP —I enjoyed your sketches. The tea bag and square mug especially caught my attention. It read well and I got it right away, plus the shapes taken all together offered the alternative choice of being enjoyed in a pure abstract way, which was also fun! Thanks for the Thomson/Group of 7 info. I got carried away following your link, and beyond. Fascinating history and amazing art. Poignant history. Thank you again!

J — Does my heart good to see you here, bringing us such vibrant colors and happy faces. Beautifully drawn and richly shaded. Fantastic group, and welcome home!

Joe — Love your grid! Clever idea Plus it reminds me of something, I think from some DVD, but I can't think which one. Now it'll drive me crazy until I can figure it out

Ai — Thank you for your "sign" to us Lovely sketch of emotion — intriguing thoughts and questions to go with. Which of those people are you?
