Thanks, everyone!!

Pine Cone, I love the tribute and patch!!! Well done!

Jo, I hope something works to keep the birds away...no more crashes.

Paul, nice job on the palm tree by the pool. Cute to have a parrot statue to liven things up.

Joe, great job on the seashell. I haven't been on the sand in too long!

Kat, I would be too busy smiling at all that color in the corner to be able to feel it's quiet vibes. Love it!

Paul, nice job on the view along the water!

Re: Scavenger Hunt #577, Feb 21 - Mar 1

Jo — I think I misspoke earlier. On Bing, I figured out that it must have been blue jays that I saw in the past rather than bluebirds. I wish there were bluebirds here The pics are so amazing and adorable. With that saturated, brilliant blue, they remind me of the color of blue you love and use! Joan mentioned crashes. That can be so sad. I hope you find the answer!

Paul — Cool parrot! And your beach watercolor made me feel joy! You gave it such depth — the ocean goes on forever. And those long shadows make me feel like I was there on a most lovely day somehow!

Scatty — Lovely, beautiful corner, full of spirit and beautifully painted with real affection. No wonder your companion waits for you there! I keep coming back to see it and soak up the lovely mix of colors. Spring is here, at least in your corner! Thanks for sharing it with us

Joan — Thanks so much!

Paul, lovely palm tree. There aren't many in our world and I found some yesterday. Your parrot sketch is good. Nice find. Your beach scene is just gorgeous. Mmmmmm.

Joe, mmm, nice shell. Love the style and colors.

Scatty, your hot pink corner would suit me fine. And a heart mug to boot! Thanks. Beautiful sketch with your buddy, too. Applause.

Thanks all. My sketches from yesterday were quick and weird. The wind came up at the coffee shop where I was sketching across the street and blew my coffee over and made the paint run. I was waiting for Gene to take a psychology test for his next surgery.
Number 3 trees
Number 4 store
Number 5 metal
Number 6 quiet spot to meditate

2 companion pet - my boy Ralph’s. Graphite in 9x12inch sketchbook took well over an hour. Probably an hour and a half at least. Image is roughly 6 inces square.

Be back later to comment
Keep sketching

Jo — This is a fun group of sketches to look at despite what you went through to get them. Lovely work. Best to Gene.

Joe — Soooo cool!!! I was hoping you'd sketch him for us Fantastic sketch in every way. Love the angle and the shading and the perspective and the contrast, and it's perfect. And, FWIW, you put me to shame. I spent half the day trying to sketch an owl figurine for Jo. I was trying to sketch it from above — same angle as you chose. I TOTALLY FAILED (and deleted it). How do you do it? Yours reads perfectly despite the impossible angle and the extreme complexity of all those parts

Joan - that sounds better than needing to wear a hat to cover up the haircut

PC - Great NASA logo. I agree with your theory about the star in orbit.

Jo - so the scarecrow doesn't work on little starlings, hey? There's a home around here with no fewer than three plastic owls dangling in the hopes of scaring away the crows and other critters who rip up lawns for yummy grubs. Does the Food Mart succeed in selling "good luck" to those who shop there? I hope you are not suggesting I can hold a take-out coffee while riding a bike or scooter - I'd scald myself for sure.

Paul - aww so lush, those fronds. Great job doing them in pencil. What a smug expression on that parrot! Wonderful seaside. Next time you go on vacation, can I tag along?

Joe - thank you. Great seashell I think I need to see a video of Ralph in action

Scatty - great cozy corner with a doggie, a rocking chair, paints, tea, mmmm

#2 horse -- a not so good sketch from me; I encounter a giant wood horse sculpture at the shopping mall and decide to sketch it. But many proportions are way off...

#3 a quiet place to meditate ... these seat pods are kind of in a more quiet zone of the mall ... even me got to sit on one of the pods and sketching these people and I felt relaxed...

Jo, nice sketches. I especially like the one of the food mart. I smiled when I read your comment about your coffee spilling...a plein air hazard for sure.

Joe, love the companion pet...hope he doesn't eat much. lol

EP, it's good to see one of your monkeys again.

Ai, I really like the sketch of the kids in those unusual chairs. They remind me of the wicker hanging chairs that used to be popular in places that had tropical gardens years back.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #577, Feb 21 - Mar 1

Been a little occupied due to a family funeral the last few days. My sister was staying with me for a few days and yesterday I drove her back home to NJ and got to do one sketch there.

Due to the season there is nothing growing here that I've planted, so I am substituting the 2 amaryllis plants that my sister is growing from bulbs.
6 - 2 plants that my sister is growing - watercolors and ink

Joe, wow! The Ralph sketch is amazing. The angles are so difficult.

EP, awwww, the monkey is so cute, love its expression. Crystals are hard. Good job!!

Ai, good for you on the horse sketch. The seat baskets look comfy, but I would probably fall when I tried to sit. You did well on the shapes.

Thanks all on my windy day.

Edited as I cross posted with Joan.
Sorry about your family funeral. Always sad/happy time for the family to get together. The amaryllis is beautifully done. Hugs.
