Pine Cone, thanks for the new list!!! EP, thanks for posting it.

EP - Congrats on being first. Like your aloe plant. Those are usually pretty hearty.

Ai - Cute turtle figurine...so tiny!

Kat - For some reason only your cute snail is showing on my computer. Will have to see if the others show later.

Since I don't have a companion pet, I borrowed someone else's.
1 - companion pet - watercolors and ink
2 - store/shop
3 - quiet bench to meditate
4 - tree - watercolors and ink
5 - metal railroad tracks

PC - hello

Jo - hello

Joan - thank you. If the "Top Hat Barber" is such a good barber then a person shouldn't need to wear a top hat over it Those two doggies look rather interested ... maybe the barber has dog treats sometimes ...

Kat - The kitties are showing now...how cute!

EP - LOL You get your haircut and you're ready to tip your hat to the ladies. I don't know about the doggie treats but they do usually have a doggie water bowl outside.

Skatty: Nice cat and wild life sketches.... a figurine and/or nick knack for every occasion. Enjoy the color choices....

Joan: Nice choices for scenes looks like plenty of items for the hunts. I need a hair cut for sure. I particularly like how you get the detail in the window. The barber looks busy

Re: Scavenger Hunt #577, Feb 21 - Mar 1

item #1 - star

A NASA patch on a hat from Barnes & Noble. The oval in the center represents a star in orbit around the Milky Way (at least that's the way I see it - but it could be a planet too). The star is the dot in the lower left quadrant of that oval.

-----------------

As I started sketching this, my thoughts turned to Oppy (the Opportunity Rover on Mars). That's why I've tried to incorporate (from imagination) a little of the planet Oppy explored for a decade and a half into the patch, as well as the background. I tried to also portray a little of the sense of the massive, sun-obliterating, global dust storm that took Oppy from us, while still trying to show how very grateful I've been for Oppy's hard work, her strength and perseverance, her beauty in the face of adversity.....

http://astronomy.com/news/2019/02/na...-for-the-robot

RIP Oppy. Thank you so much.

Joan, really like the Barber shop and red barn. Such stories in those.

Pine Cone, very thoughtful and well done sketch.

I sketched in the big book with the Micron 01
1 wildlife - birds
2 animal figurine - scarecrow owl

We've had these Eastern Bluebirds pecking at our dining window at their reflections for a couple of weeks. Intense emotion in them. We heard that if you put a plastic owl it will scare them away. Well, you see the results, they use the owl for a perch to view themselves. Ha. We ordered one with a bobbing head, supposed to work better. We shall see.

Pine Cone: Very nice tribute to the Mars rover....... great job on NASA's symbol

Jo; Nice wild life and animal sketch. Yes, Owls will keep many other birds at bay. We used them where I worked to do the same thing......

1. Tree ---- pencil palm tree along pool side where we are staying this week.

EP & PC 👍🏽

EP - Nice work on both sketches. Puppy looks so comfy.

Ai - Still amazed you can draw with a mouse. Cute collection of little friends.

Scatty - Cats are so cute. Snail is cool but cats make me smile.

Joan - You are def the Queen of plain sire. But be careful as Ai is close behind.

PC - NASA should hire you as either resident artist or publicist. Excellent.

Jo - You need to do the owl and friend in a pastel. That would be soo cool.

Paul- Great palm sketch.

I did a shell experimenting with some watercolor techniques. Image is about 6x5.5 inches which is many times larger than life. Actual shell is about 2 inches long.

1-shell

Keep sketching
Joe

Ai, Jo, Paul, and Joe — Thanks so much!

Jo — Your terrific sketch of the bluebird conveys so much motion! You're so fortunate to have them right there. I've seen a couple of bluebirds in the past, but never anywhere near where I lived. They're so lovely, and fun, and beneficial What a joyful species!

Paul — Lovely, graceful sketch of the palm — nice differentiation. It's fun to see your trip unfold in your sketches. It's fun to read words like "beach" and "palm" and "pool"..... You must be having the time of your life! Thanks for sharing with us!

Joe — Lovely patterning on the shell, and nice shadow from a difficult angle!
