Paul - great idea to sketch a Keurig for operation. I don't know what I was thinking when I listed that Hooray for a yesterday sketch. I borrowed that idea from Jo.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #574, Jan 29 - Feb 5

graphite on off-cuts of cardstock - maybe 3" tall and 8" long?

1. featherweight

2. comb as a substitute for hairbrush
3. fingernails

Cheers,

Paul, great foursome. Clever for operation. Do you like the Keurig? Gene likes it, I'm not so fond. I like the bristles on the brush and quarter. Full wallet! The yesterday sketch is super! (I'll send you our Honeybees for cleaning! I don't clean so that is why we have them .. I'll do without almost anything, except eating, to keep them and the yard mower guy! Our luxury items!)

Ai, wow, Lily and Iris are growing way too fast. Clever and great sketches.

EP, good find for featherweight. Nicely done on nails and comb.

Scatty, excellent sketches and finds. Musical instrument, yay. Had not seen your pound coin with dragon. Cool! And ... a new mug for my collection. Haven't had any lime green ones. Smile.

I haven't sketched but went to Art Center and did a painting with the plein air group, too cold at 50 degrees for us to be outside. We did a still life instead. Joan and other folks from up north will think I am a wimp. The skull is from life and the pots were handmade from my head. I will call the skull part of the painting,
#3 discipline - takes discipline to do art and to paint something I wouldn't have painted otherwise.

Jeroen, wow, I really like your discipline in drawing. Your hatching is always so great. The car and watch, well all are so good. Your bravery made me smile.

Paul, ceiling fans are a real challenge. You did well on the perspective and shading.

Ai, thanks, the board for the skull painting is 11 x 14 inches. I can't imagine that I will save it for any reason, but since I like the results it can mellow for a while. Who would want a skull in the dining room with the pots or pots in the hunting man cave. Ha.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #574, Jan 29 - Feb 5

I went out with some BangkokSketchers friends today. I arrived a bit early...so I got to sketch a tourist ordering her cuppa while I waited for my sketching buddies... Then my friends arrived; we went to Bangkok China Town for some more sketching... Afternoon, we escaped the heat and the China Town chaos to sketch inside a tea house. I ended the day sketching the view out of a window of an art gallery converted from a giant old Chinese wooden warehouse along ChaoPhraya River.

#3 Discipline -- hosting a tea ceremony
#4 Chinese delicious treat

#5 sub. a restaurant with a tourist in a cafe

#6 ephemeral -- old Chinese decaying building
#7 green item -- windows frame (did not show that well with my phone camera)

#8 something that demonstrates bravery -- The Royal Gate, Bangkok China Town

Ai - Hello and thank you. Oh sigh I love hearing about the Bangkok sketchers and seeing the sketches and the photos. It's such a colourful world! Love love love the Royal Gate

Jo - thank you. Your comment about 50F made me chuckle. Try -50F. Well done on all the textures and colours on those antlers.

Jeroen - love your ink work hatching. Oh yay an accordion.

Paul - great job on the overhead fan blades. Aren't they interesting the perspective changes their orientation?
