BDancer, welcome! Love your shadow, how cool is that? Yes under your desk is way too neat.....

Joe, I like your primary colors. Nice work in watercolor, shading and all.

Paul, excellent reflection. Very nice shading.

EP, awww. Cute gift and well done.

Thanks everyone.

Paul - Nice sketch for reflections. I like that you included background. I would have focused on me and shaded the rest. What part of Florida? I live in Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area on Gulf coast. Thanks for encouraging words.

9 Thanks.

BD - She looks quite content. I think ‘Shadow’ found a good home.

EP - Nicely done. Enjoying a peek at your crafted collection. So do we get a ref photo?

Jo - in watercolor I seem to do better working small with waterbrush and pads. When I go big and use tubes I seem to lose it. Everything dries to fast and if I use more water it comes out worse.

Keep sketching
Joe

Re: Scavenger Hunt #573, Jan 20 - Jan 29

Today I was one of Bangkok Sketchers group members that get a free event pass for Thailand International Jazz Conference 2019, hosted by Mahidol Univ., School of Music. The free pass obligated us to give them two of our sketches; so these sketches will be sold for charity fundraising for young Thai to come to Jazz Camp, next year. It was a bit nerve wrecking for me knowing that I have to produce 2 decent sketches for sale at the spot but mine came out OK and I enjoyed sketching with my friends in the green environment.

#3 older than me -- music

#4 given to me as gift -- a free pass to this Jazz festival

#5 a quiet place -- a nature walk way connecting School of Music buildings with the distance view of the event logo (TIJC)

Scatty, thanks so much! I've never seen one of those orange moons except in magazines. I can imagine it must have been awe inspiring?!?!?Did you take any pics?

Jo, there they are! A lovely, balmy set of sketches! And you have your very own rain gauge! How does it work?

BDancer, awww, clever idea for shadow... What a soulful shadow! Nice corner: used yet well organized.

Joe, wow, you're so good with watercolor! And this excellent triplet really puts the "color" in "watercolor." Beautifully painted, shaded and shadowed. 🎨

Paul, so fun to see a selfie! And I love the setup with things in front also reflecting back. Nice work! And safe journeys!

EP, amazing painting of a unique gift, wow! 🎨

Ai, your paintings are lovely and will be treasured by those who receive them. Thank you for taking us along!

Hi Hunters Happy 2019!

Thought I'd join you for a hunt if you don't mind.

I noticed some nice sketches. Specially the bicycle. Bikes are hard to draw.

I actually misread and thought "a medium you're uncomfortable with".

My whole workflow is always based on "adjustable", so ink is less comfortable than my usual pencil. Anyway, so here is fineliner

Something round - Supermarket cart token
Something rectangular - Business card and the eraser
Something you like to wear - Pocket knife
Something reflective - Old iPhone I take with me when I go running
Something metallic - Paperclip
Your most recent art supply purchase - Lead holder

Scatty--Yes, she is part Border Collie and Lab! I think shes part cat. She holds her head up and back exposing her throat to be scratched.
That is a cool bottle

Hi, Pine Cone.

Jeroen, wow! You have such beautiful hatching. I also like the items you chose. Very slick!

Scatty, your Pawsecco made the day here. I had to look it up on Google as well. Sent it to the kiddos for their pets. Fun. Thanks. Excellent drawing.

Thanks, all.

I got out the pastels. It was a beautiful day. Sketched on the porch so plein air ... About an hour on the wiped off paper. I wiped off the red jar yesterday and did a landscape for the SW forum, then wiped it off today for the backyard.
Number 5, seasonal - the small oak tree hasn't lost its leaves. All the other trees are bare. The pine trees in the back make it all too busy, should have left some out. Oh, well, just a sketch.

Ai--how wonderful your work is. And to donate it to be auctioned! I would be so flattered. I bet they sell easily.

A quick sketch while enjoying the warm temps outside..something round

Jeroen, Fantastic sketches. They refresh me through their structure!

Scatty, love your superb bottle! That golden glow is beautiful

Jo, I'm floored by your pastel painting, one of the most appealling I've ever seen! As I write, I'm trying to walk among those trees, on enchanted ground 🎨

BDancer, fun sketch, and ah, 72 degrees, how would it be 😍

FWIW, regarding Pawsecco, I had to google it too. At one time, I would have loved to get this for my pets. But now that we're finally understanding how harmful added antioxidants can be, in my own opinion, I would never feed this to any of my pets now. (See [among others] Scientific American, Feb., 2013, "The Myth of Antioxidants".) This is, of course, strictly a personal choice on my part, and is unrelated in any way to the company or product that has been discussed here, both of which are new to me, and which I have never used.
