Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Gulf of Mexico No. IV - 16X12 Gallery wrapped canvas, Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly with palette knife in a loose expressionistic, impressionistic style. All 4 sides are painted out with a continuation of the scene.
Every day here pretty much starts out with blue skies & sunshine and most afternoons in the summer the sky starts to darken around 3 and shortly thereafter we get rain showers ----almost everyday in the summer (rainy season)

Gulf of Mexico No. IV: I really love your use of color - loving the tropical colors with your palms (which I ADORE!) - awesome!

Richard: Your Gulf of Mexico No.IV is another super piece - I really admire your knife work ... your ability to mold a scene fascinates me -

Nice updates. Your wife has a good eye. Love the new painting too. I like the background a lot - the mix of tropical blues and the sandy colors are quite striking!

I really need to visit here more often, Richard. I am missing so much! You seem to be excelling in your use of colour: they are all so vibrant and compelling. I love the desert scene and the trees in your latest, set against that beautiful blue. Excellent!

Autumn Aspen Stand - 16x12, clear gessoed linen canvas panel, palette knife, Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly. Aspen stands are also called "aspen clones" as all the aspens in a stand are made up of common roots with all being identical in makeup - ie: "CLONED"

Autumn Aspen Stand: Magical stuff Richard - you breathe so much life to your paintings - awesome! (as usual - running out of adjectives to describe your paintings!)

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Thanks CaliAnn - I love aspens - I think it is amazing that a stand of aspens has the same makeup - let's say 20 trees in a stand they are all identical in all ways, while underground they clone one another! They are sometimes called aspen clone instead of aspen stand!
