Westerly Breeze on the Gulf is a beauty. I think my favorite parts are those little turquoise pops on the tree trunks.

Gulf of Mexico Color No. II

24X30 FULL sheet of 300lb rough watercolor paper using Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly with palette knife in a loose expressionistic impressionistic style with semi abstract passages. Done alla prima.

Excuse the blur in the photo as my tablet camera is acting up.n

You capture the beauty of summer with your lovely palm trees by the sea Richard. We are within a kind of cloud here with heavy rain, so uplifting to see your cheerful paintings.

Thanks for your feedback Caroline,, most appreciated. We are getting into the high 80-90 degrees farenheit with humidity in the 70+ range!

Another beauty! Whew, that sounds hot. I hope you've got good air conditioning. We're just seeing sixties lately...warmer weather will feel nice, minus the humidity, in a perfect world.

Cheery palm trees. Needed here, too. We have been cloudy and muggy for a week or so. May get sunshine today, but will come with humidity! You know the feeling. :-)

Gulf of Mexico Color No. II: I love, love, LOVE your palms - they always seem to be dancing and swaying to music - beautiful painting Richard!

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Thanks Jo, Jenna & CaliAnn- I made some minor changes to this painting at the horizon line -the dark line was confusing unless one considered it part of the semi abstract portion. My wife didn't like it --- so that's a good reason to change it! :>]] :>]]

So funny what CaliAnn writes!!! It has become a darker slightly stormy piece now. Fascinating what the slightest changes will do!
