Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

That Monsoon Fury is amazing, Richard! It does, indeed, feel violent.

Night Fall Glow is also so stunning. I love those oranges popping through the blue sky...almost like gold gleaming under there. Excellent!

Night Fall Glow is another beautiful painting Richard. Just the right amount of glow - it has such a quiet, reflective feel to it

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Gulf of Mexico Southwest Florida - This is a scene from a city park about 5 minutes from our home - the Gulf at this time of the year is in the Autumn/Winter mood as compared to the summer months - I enjoy this time of the year much more than summer.

The palm fronds are done with a palette knife as well. The foliage at the base of the trees is done with a cheap Home Depot brush that I altered to produce what I call " mock stipple "

18x24 225lb linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with palette knife & gusto.

Really nice work! I like your "custom" paint brush. The palm trees are lovely, and I really like that velvety softness on the ground.

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Another example of "our hood" 18x24 palette knife and my " mock stipple " brush for ground clutter.

Another great one! I like the sense of wind and movement in this painting.

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Mingling - 24x18, 225lb linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with palette knife in a expressionistic/impressionistic loose style. Concentration was on composition & color with minor thoughts regarding movement.

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Added some wave action to original post above just to brighten it up a tad.
